I was thinking today... Maybe a "buy-in" tournament would be a good idea to bring in a lil more excitement.... E.g. €5,- buy-in to enter the tournament. That money will be used as prize money and will be divided among the number 1 till 4 ranked.

Number 1 = 50%
Number 2 = 30%
Number 3 = 20%
Number 4 = 10%

It can be interesting but dunno how many players are ready to pay for tournaments. Keep in mind that there is plenty of the kids (no offense) among populous players.

and some games will prolly "mysteriously" crash lol.

Its an interesting idea but doubt it would work unless all games were played on LAN supervised.

Well... I think its illegal everywhere around the world... But it would definately be interesting

btw i like Akira's idea for a tourney with custom map created exclusivly for the tourney. After few tourneys there would be a chance to have couple of great and playable maps. The only problem is that created map has to be realy proffesional (it doesn't mean that it has to have thousounds of stoneheads nor freak solutions).

funny you mention it , smudgey played like years ago and won a game and pop sent him a present lol , it was another game or something cant remember but he won a prize! good ol' days.
